Sustainable packaging

Environmental considerations

The package design, choice of materials, processing, and life-cycle, are all important factors that is considered thoroughly in the development, test, design and production to a ready product before it enters the market.

Biodegradable and recycled

When possible, the material should be biodegradable and require as little volume and material as possible. Un-bleached paper cardboard is used for volume packaging and transport. All parts of the products and packaging material can be recycled, and the producer responsibility means that the producer is responsible for the environmental impact of the goods and products, as well as the ultimate disposal. This is done by membership of the nationwide recycling system of Packaging and Newspaper Collection and under supervision of the Swedish Government.

Sustainable production

In our pursuit of sustainability, our production boasts eco-friendly practices like zero CO2 emissions, self-produced solar power, optimized water usage, waste reduction, and resource reuse.

No CO2 emissions

Self-produced electricity through solar panels runs part of the production. The rest is run by electricity from renewable sources (water, wind, sun).

No waste of water

Water from washing is gathered in a separate tank and later evaporated with help from cooling air from a compressor.

No use of solvents

Instead, washing with cold water and high pressure are used. Any remains are removed mechanically.

Minimized cassation

The few plugs that don’t pass the quality control due to appearance are used for marketing activities to further reduce waste.

Reuse of all ventilation air

Heat generated in production and buildings is reused in a heat pump and led to the driers that dries the plugs.
